Mission and Vision

Greenwood Home Educators (GHE) is a cooperative organization of Christian homeschooling families from the Southside of the greater Indianapolis area.  Check us out at www.greenwoodhomeeducators.org

We provide a classroom-oriented educational experience for homeschool students from preschool through high school (nursery programs are offered concurrently for younger children).  Parents in GHE work in teams to plan and teach an area of study utilizing academic and hands-on activities.

Curricula

Two topics are chosen each year (one per semester) by a vote of the membership. Recently chosen themes have included; Economics, The Human Body, American Frontier, Ancient Egypt, Shakespeare (High school), and Photography (High school).

Meeting Times

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, September-April (excluding December) at New Hope Church, 5307 W. Fairview Rd. in Greenwood.

GHE members also organize educational group field trips. We have at least one field trip each semester that relates to our unit of study, and an end-of-year field trip.

Members also plan family recreational activities, which are typically held in the afternoon, following our second regular meeting of the month.

Our school year ends with the Spring Review program, where students have the opportunity to present what they have learned to an audience of friends and family.
