Horizon Academy and Horizon Central Homeschool Co-op

Mission and Vision

To support and encourage homeschool families by:

1. Sharing areas of expertise & abilities, while still encouraging home learning.

2. Giving parents opportunities to share their knowledge, talents and passions with other children. 

3. Giving children opportunities to learn from adults whose interests and strengths may differ from their parents.

4. Providing a place for classes that lend themselves to group involvement.

5. Building healthy relationships with other children and adults.

 

Membership

We accept new members at the beginning of the summer.  The deadline for 2011 is June 17.  There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 17 at 7 pm for anyone interested.  New members are welcome.

Horizon Academy is the 7-12 grade branch, and Horizon Central Homeschool Co-op is grades K-6.

Each family must sign a statement of faith to participate in the co-op.  The co-op functions under the umbrella of the church (Horizon Christian Fellowship Central), although one doesn't need to attend the church to be part of the co-op.

Group Size

At present we have 12 families.

Meeting Times

Friday mornings from 9 - 12 AM  (Classes for all ages, from babies to highschoolers.)

Friday afternoons from 12:45 - varying ending times.  (Classes for middle & highschoolers.)
