Mission and Vision

Statement of Purpose FWAHS exists to serve the Lord Jesus Christ by: • Helping new home schooling parents get started. • Informing home schoolers about available resources. • Providing opportunities for homeschoolers to meet and encourage one another. • Monitoring the legislature and passing along pertinent information to the homeschool network. • Encouraging parents to "train up their children in the way they should go" (Prov.22:6). • Encouraging excellence in individual homeschools. Statement of Faith We believe in the eternally-existing triune God: man's sinful nature and need for redemption; and Jesus Christ's atoning death and resurrection. We believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and that it is the foundation upon which all education should be based (Jeremiah 10:2, Joshua 1:8, II Timothy 3:16, Colossians 2:8, James 1:5 and Deuteronomy 6:6-9). No denomination or individual doctrine will be promoted. To particpate in a FWAHS-sponsered activity you need not agree with these statements, only understand that this is the basis from which the FWAHS board will work.

Membership

Homemade News is FWAHS' quarterly newsletter published in August, November, February and May. The newsletter usually contains one or two articles concerning home education, an opportunities section, a calendar of events, a student forum, and current legislative news. If desired, E-mail updates can also be sent as needed to update subscribers to activities or news that takes place between newsletters. Other sections are seasonal or topical in nature and change as the need arises. The Homemade News is the Fort Wayne area's one-stop resource for home education opportunities. To participate in the FWAHS' testing program or graduation ceremony, your family must currently be a Homemade News subscriber. The subscription rate is $14.00 for four issues or individual issues can be purchased for $4.00 each. Please see www.fwahs.org for more information.
