All classes are for 12 weeks unless otherwise noted.
There is $25 fee per family per semester to cover facility related expenses. Below you will find a variety of classes available for the Fall semester. Students may take one or up to five classes including an off campus art class. Prices are set by each individual teacher.
Many class fees include supplies/materials needed for the lessons.
*Classes may be deleted if there is not sufficient enrollment. Individual teachers have final say on class divisions, age divisions if any, and enrollment numbers.

*WRITING**********************************
Lisa Gallant has a unique ability to make challenging subjects appealing and easy to understand. In this class, writing isn’t boring, it’s an exhilarating experience that teaches all aspects of writing including reports, essays, newspaper reporting, and more. “ You don’t need to be a pro to take this class, just grab your thesaurus and hang on!” (Grace Long a student of Mrs. Gallant)
*WRITING 1- for students entering seventh and eighth grade
*WRITING II- for students who have completed Mrs. Gallants Writing I Course
*READT SET WRITE-for students not quite ready for a full writing course. This class will reinforce grammar, sentence structure, how to write paragraphs and more. This is a preparatory class for Writing I. ( Fifth to sixth grade graders)
All writing classes are year long two semester courses.* Because the writing classes builds on previous lessons, students enrolling must complete both semesters. Tuition- $96 per student per semester
*STAGE SKILLS*********************************
Acting, speaking, and performing. Students learn the life skills of cooperation, self confidence, voice and diction, and of course, how to improvise on stage when things don’t go exactly as planned. Instructor Hope long's class will include developing a character, basic stage direction and theatrical terms,stage movement, make-up, how to obtain and assemble simple costumes and props, theatrical games, and plenty of fun. (7 years and up)

INTRODUCTION to LATIN*****************************************
Latin for children as young as 7 years old? Yes! Weekly lessons of songs, stories, and activities, make this a great class to introduce Latin to young folks.
In this course students will be introduced to the basics of Latin vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Grace Long, a home school freshman, will share her enthusiasm for Latin with your child. Grace has received numerous awards in Latin including gold and silver medals in the National Latin Exam and most recently a Cum Laude in the 2009 NLE.

*MATH**********************************
Many of you already know Lisa Gallant as a terrific writing teacher. Did you know Math is another specialty of hers? This class will bring math to life by demonstrating the various ways math is used every day in cooking, building, and shopping to name a few. Demonstrations, hands on
practice, including but not limited to perimeter, percentages, liquid and solid measurements , sales tax, fractions, and multi step equations. This class is a great supplement to your math curriculum covering all aspects of basic math. 4th -7th grade

*PRESCHOOL READING READINESS*******************
This class will focus on developing vocabulary, attention span, and interest in books. Instructor, Jenny Cunningham ( M.A. English from University of Tennessee) will incorporate reading aloud with short discussion for comprehension following. The semester will begin with short picture books and lead into longer picture books, then illustrated short chapter books. Along with the read-aloud component, students will do other reading readiness activities including discerning chronological order and talking about characters, as well as songs and simple crafts.
( ages 3-5) This class will meet for 45 minutes.

*SPANISH**************************************
Don Seaman again offers his Spanish course featuring an interactive auditory approach. Mr. Seaman emphasizes proper pronunciation of the Spanish vowel and consonant sounds.
*Spanish 1 -available to students age 7 and above or students who have taken his Spanish Primary level course.
*Advanced Spanish -for students who have previously studied with Mr. Seaman, or those who undergo an individual evaluation by Mr. Seaman, and are felt to be ready for the class.
Tuition-$60 per semester per class with a maximum of $150 for three or more students from the same family.
*MARTIAL ARTS*********************************
This class will teach the basics moves of karate, some self defense and kata (form, and encourage self discipline, self-confidence, and self control. Biblical scriptures will be discussed as part of the program. Instructor, Shayna Dosset, is a third degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, and a 2nd degree black belt in Chin Ji Do, which combines Tae Kwon Do with Jujitsu. She has earned numerous national and regional titles and a Gold Medal in the World Series (2002). Shayna teaches both children and adults at Chad’s School of Martial Arts in Evansville. (All ages) Parents are welcome to attend with their student.

A true art educator, Laura Mitchell brings her expertise and enthusiasm for art to the classroom. “Miss Laura” of Mitchell Art Academy and clay Studio, teaches with a philosophy that everyone can learn to make art and it’s impossible to make a mistake. Students learn techniques in a stress free atmosphere and are encouraged to explore the media and express themselves. Art History is sprinkled among the lessons as students are exposed to the styles and techniques of the great masters from the renaissance to the present. All acrylic and watercolor paints, brushes, palettes, canvases, drawing pencils, erasers, mediums, and papers supplied. Students need only bring painting shirts to protect clothing. Students learn not just how artists accomplish great works, but why the works are significant in the first place. Art is fun! Elementary age and up.
