Classical Conversations Band 2010-2011

Description

The Bands are open to any and all home-schooled children ages 9 and up.  There are three levels of instruction:
StartUp Band is for those who have never played their selected instrument before or who have very little experience (band instruments only; no strings please).
Junior Band requires attendance in StartUp Band last year or roughly 1 year of experience.
Concert Band is for those with 2 or more years of experience or comparable skill from last year’s band.  Parents and other family members are also welcome to audition for the Concert Band!

If you will be enrolling in StartUp band, please contact us to discuss instrument selection.  And as a change for this year, if you will be enrolling in Junior or Concert Band, please contact us to arrange an audition.  Auditions will be necessary to place you into the right level.  Don’t fear these times together!

Fees

The fees for this Fall have been changed slightly to allow for facility fees.  The fee is a non-refundable $45 for the first student and $35 for each additional family member.  StartUp members must furnish their own instrument and music book (Essential Elements 2000 w/DVD).  Junior Band members must furnish, in addition to their instrument, the Essential Elements 2000 Book 2 w/CD).

Rehearsals will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Plainfield (on Center Street), on Thursday evenings beginning September 16th.  StartUp Band will meet at 5:30-6:10pm, Junior Band will meet at 6:20-7:00pm and Concert Band will meet at 7:10-7:50pm.
